Supporting Numeracy

This course is designed specifically for teaching assistants to help improve their skills and confidence supporting numeracy in the classroom. With information and guidance on working relationships, assessment, retrieval and barriers to learning, this course helps TAs work with their class teacher to help pupils develop their problem solving skills and mathematical language. This course also outlines the specific features of a maths classroom, including the use of manipulatives, pictures, stories and calculations.
