This course gives an overview of secondary school history to early career teachers and teachers who would like to reflect on their current knowledge. Secondary History looks at how we actually conceptualise and think about school history, how to structure it to ensure progression and continued engagement and, finally, how to teach it in a way that develops confidence and secure knowledge. Topics covered include local history, diverse and inclusive history, and using stories in history teaching.
