This course starts by outlining different LGBTQ+ identities and terminology before exploring general topics such as LGBTQ+ history, rights, allyship, advocacy and issues. There is also a section on how teachers can foster an LGBTQ+ positive environment and provide proactive and responsive support to LGBTQ+ pupils. This includes advice on addressing LGBTphobia, creating non-judgmental spaces, adopting inclusive language and delivering a curriculum that promotes respect.
