When a credential is issued, its record is published on the blockchain. The credential can then be verified in real time by third parties, giving them assurance that the registration has not been altered since issuance. This approach also helps prevent fraud. Once the credential has been written to the blockchain, it cannot be altered or falsified: if someone tries to copy a credential, it will be flagged and will not be verified.
